Our goal is to provide the most competitive and enjoyable tournament experience for every team. Each classification is designed to group teams with similar skill levels so that every team has a fair opportunity to compete.

Every classification at each tournament will crown its own Tournament Champion. Your team's classification is not a measure of its value or potential—it is simply intended to place your team in the most competitive environment based on its current level of play.

There is no exact formula for determining a team's classification, but the following guidelines will help you select the most appropriate level.

Majors

The Majors Division represents the highest level of travel baseball competition. These teams consistently compete against the strongest opponents, regularly win high-level tournaments, and are expected to contend for championships at nearly every event they enter.

Major teams typically feature exceptional depth throughout the roster, advanced pitching, strong defensive play, and the ability to compete with the top programs in their age group. This division is intended for elite-level travel organizations and highly accomplished independent teams.

AAA

The AAA Division consists of highly competitive travel teams that consistently perform well in tournament play and regularly compete for championships. These teams possess strong rosters, quality pitching, and solid fundamentals but may not consistently compete at the elite Major level.

AAA teams are experienced tournament teams capable of competing against strong competition and are among the upper tier of travel baseball.

AA

The AA Division represents the largest group of travel teams and is the most common level of tournament competition. These teams are competitive, continue to develop throughout the season, and are capable of making deep tournament runs while still building consistency against stronger opponents.

If you are uncertain where your team belongs, register as a AA team. Tournament staff will review registrations and work with coaches to ensure appropriate placement.

A

The A Division is designed for developing travel teams that are newer to tournament baseball or are still gaining experience against travel competition. These teams may consist of younger players, first-year travel programs, or teams transitioning from recreational or all-star baseball.

The A Division provides an environment where teams can build confidence, gain valuable tournament experience, and compete against opponents with similar skill levels while continuing to develop.

Team Classification

Team classifications are determined using several factors, including:

• Information provided during registration
• Previous tournament results
• Overall competitive history
• Strength of schedule and opponents
• Roster composition
• The discretion of Training Legends Staff

Tournament staff reserves the right to reclassify or move a team to a different division before or during an event when necessary to maintain competitive balance and provide the best possible tournament experience for all participants.

Combining Classifications

To provide the best tournament experience possible, classifications may occasionally be combined due to the number of registered teams or to improve overall competitive balance.

When classifications are combined, Training Legends Staff will structure pool play, bracket play, and championship formats in the manner that provides the fairest competition possible.

Whenever practical, separate championships will be awarded for each classification represented. However, tournament formats may be adjusted based on team counts, scheduling, facility availability, weather, or other operational considerations.

When in Doubt

If you are uncertain about your team's classification, register as a AA team. Training Legends Staff will review every registration and work with coaches to ensure each team is placed in the classification that provides the most competitive and enjoyable tournament experience for everyone involved.

C Division

The C Division is intended for developing tournament teams. These teams may have limited tournament experience, fewer experienced players, or developing pitching. If your team is still building confidence, has struggled against stronger competition, or is relatively new to tournament baseball, the C Division is likely the best fit.

Invitational Division

The Invitational Division is a developmental division created for teams that are not yet competitive at the C Division level. It is intended for newer programs, teams with primarily first-year players, or teams that have consistently struggled in C Division competition.

Teams may not register directly for the Invitational Division. Placement into this division is made solely at the discretion of Training Legends Staff after reviewing a team's registration information, roster experience, previous tournament results, and any other relevant competitive factors. If tournament staff determines that a team would have a more positive and competitive experience in the Invitational Division, the team's coach will be contacted prior to the event regarding the placement.

The Invitational Division is designed to provide developing teams with a competitive environment where they can build confidence, gain experience, and continue to develop while competing against teams of similar ability.

Division Placement

Team classifications are based on the information provided during registration, previous tournament results, and the discretion of Training Legend Staff. Tournament staff reserves the right to reclassify or move a team to a different division before or during an event when necessary to maintain competitive balance and provide the best possible tournament experience.

This includes placing eligible teams into the Invitational Division, which is available only by Training Legend Staffinvitation and is not a selectable registration option.

Combining Divisions

To provide the best possible tournament experience, divisions may occasionally be combined due to the number of registered teams or to improve overall competitive balance. How Matchups Are Determined

At Training Legends, our primary goal is to provide the best experience possible for every player and team. Our scheduling process is designed to create competitive games while exposing teams to a variety of opponents.

Step 1 – Team Classification & Evaluation

The scheduling process begins with the classification you provide when registering your team.

• All-Star Teams: A, B, or C
• Travel Teams: Major, AAA, AA, or A

While your self-classification is an important starting point, it is only one part of the process. We also use our knowledge of your team and the other teams in your age division, including previous results, roster continuity, coaching history, tournament performance, and overall competitive strength. This allows us to make informed decisions when building balanced divisions and schedules.

Step 2 – Division Placement

Based on the number of teams entered within each age group, teams are placed into the most appropriate competitive divisions whenever possible.

Our goal is to group teams of similar ability so that games are competitive and provide the best experience for players, coaches, and families. Competitive balance always takes priority over creating divisions with equal numbers of teams.

Step 3 – Schedule Development

Once divisions are established, we build the schedule while balancing several factors, including:

• Competitive matchups
• Team classifications and competitive strength
• Field availability
• Coach scheduling requests (when possible)
• Travel considerations
• Avoiding excessive repeat opponents

We make every effort to accommodate schedule requests, but they must be balanced against the needs of every team in the league. No single factor determines the schedule—every decision involves finding the best overall solution for hundreds of games.

Step 4 – Ongoing Review

As the season progresses, we continue to evaluate team performance.

If a team proves to be significantly stronger or weaker than originally anticipated, we may adjust future division placement when scheduling allows. Our objective is to maintain the most competitive environment possible throughout the season.

• Team self-classification is an important part of the scheduling process, but it is not the only factor used.
• Divisions and matchups are built using a combination of team classifications, our knowledge of participating teams, league structure, and scheduling logistics.
• We do our best to honor scheduling requests whenever possible, but competitive balance and field availability must remain the highest priorities.
• No schedule will ever be perfect, but every schedule is created with fairness, competitive balance, and player development as the guiding principles.
